**Coinbase Launches Learn and Earn Program to Encourage Crypto Education**
Coinbase Pro has listed four new cryptocurrencies: Golem (GNT), Dai (DAI), Maker (MKR) and Zilliqa (ZIL).
In addition, Coinbase has launched a new program called “Learn and Earn” to encourage the community to learn about cryptocurrencies.
The program is currently in invite-only mode and focuses on the ERC-20 token 0x (ZRX).
According to a blog post by Coinbase, the goal of the program is to “help people learn more about the utility of digital assets and the underlying technology, and then reward them for their efforts.”
Coinbase also said that it conducted a survey of its customers and community and found that:
“One of the biggest barriers to entry for people who want to learn about digital assets is that they don’t have a basic understanding of these concepts. Many people we surveyed expressed a desire to learn more about digital assets outside of Bitcoin but didn’t know where to start.”
The exchange believes that it can solve this problem by providing users with a small amount of cryptocurrency when they complete the educational course and demonstrate their basic knowledge.
Normally, users can only get cryptocurrencies through trading or buying and selling, but Coinbase’s new curriculum does not require users to have any prior experience or financial resources in order to participate.
The funding for the first phase of the program comes from the 0x (ZRX) Ecosystem Development Fund, and Coinbase said that it will experiment with other educational and training initiatives in the future, “not necessarily created by the developer.”
ZRX was listed on Coinbase Pro in mid-October.
Coinbase is not the only major player in the cryptocurrency education space. Earlier this month, rival exchange Binance launched a set of educational content that includes over 500 articles to provide “basic” information about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

In terms of protecting investors, regulators around the world – from China to the United States – are supporting educational initiatives to raise awareness and better protect the retail market.
