According to a report from Korean publication The Elec, the company is planning to produce just 10 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 combined, down from 15 million units for the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4.
The report cites rising raw material costs and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war as the main reasons for the decrease in production targets.
Despite the lower production targets, Samsung is said to be sticking with the same specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 as their predecessors. Both phones are expected to feature a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 is also expected to feature a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is expected to be announced later this year.
It remains to be seen how the lower production targets will impact the availability of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 when they launch later this year.
