**Spanish bank Santander InnoVentures has launched a new blockchain startup competition, offering the winner a \$50,000 prize and the chance to pitch their idea to the bank's executives.**
The competition is open to startups from all over the world that are developing solutions using blockchain technology. The deadline for applications is 31st December.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from Santander InnoVentures and OneVest, a startup agency that will provide mentorship and guidance to the finalists. The competition is scheduled to take place in New York at the end of January.
“Distributed ledger technologies will create huge value for customers, banks and entrepreneurs who create new businesses around it,” said Mariano Belinky, managing partner of Santander InnoVentures. “The Challenge will spark and accelerate that process for FinTech startups.”
