**Galaxy Digital Trading Volume Soars 75% Year-Over-Year to Record $1.4 Billion**
Galaxy Digital Trading (GDT), the trading arm of Galaxy Digital, reported a 75% year-over-year increase in trading volume to a record $1.4 billion in the first quarter of 2023.
The company attributed the surge in trading volume to the momentum in Bitcoin markets. GDT also announced on Friday that it had acquired crypto trading firms Drawbridge Lending and Blue Fire Capital for an undisclosed sum.
Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz said in a statement: “We are seeing strong demand for our trading products and services as institutions continue to increase their exposure to digital assets. The acquisition of Drawbridge and Blue Fire Capital will further strengthen our position as a leading provider of crypto trading solutions.”
Glxy was trading up 30 basis points around $5.37 CAD (US $4.08) on the Toronto Stock Exchange at press time.
