**Arcane Crypto Acquires **Swedish Crypto Exchange Vertical Ventures
**Arcane Crypto**, a Swedish cryptocurrency trading platform, has acquired Swedish crypto exchange Vertical Ventures. The deal, which is expected to be completed in the second half of 2020, will see Arcane become the majority owner of Vertical Ventures, which will trade under the Arcane name.
To fund the $32 million takeover, Vertical Ventures will issue more than 6.6 billion new shares – each at half a U.S. cent.
Arcane CEO Torbjorn Bull Jenssen said that the acquisition would allow the company to reach a wider investor base. “If the listing is successful, it will give us access to a wider investor base and allow us to continue to grow our business,” he said.
The deal will have to be approved by shareholders, and Nasdaq North will also have to sign off on the new company structure before it can be re-listed.
Vertical Ventures’ shares have jumped on the news, and are up 53% since the market open.
