Some members of the cryptocurrency community noticed on Monday that Bitcoin.com appeared to be listed for sale on Godaddy for a minimum price of $100 million.
However, the domain name's owner, Roger Ver, has said that Bitcoin.com is not for sale.
"100% this is fake news," Ver told The Block.
Ver showed The Block a screenshot of what appeared to be a text message he sent to Godaddy, saying:
"Why are you listing my domain name for sale? It is not for sale. Please delete this fake news that is damaging my real brand."
It is not clear how or why the listing appeared or why it was deleted. Godaddy has not responded to The Block's request for comment.
