FTX Japan will begin allowing customers to withdraw funds in mid-February, the company announced in a blog post on Thursday.
In order to withdraw funds, customers will first need to create an account with Liquid Japan, a local cryptocurrency exchange that was acquired by FTX earlier this year. Once customers have verified their identity and linked their Liquid Japan account to their FTX Japan account, they will be able to withdraw funds.
The company said that the timeline for withdrawals could change depending on the progress of an external security audit.
FTX Japan's withdrawal services were suspended on November 8 after the Japanese Financial Services Agency ordered the exchange to suspend operations. The suspension came just three days after FTX Trading Ltd., the global parent company of FTX Japan, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States.
