**EU Launches €1 Million Project to Track Cryptocurrency Payments**
The European Union has launched a €1 million project to track cryptocurrency payments, with the aim of combating ransomware attacks and other cybercrimes.
The project, called “Blockchain for Public Safety,” will be led by the Austrian government and will involve participants from Interpol, the interior ministries of Spain and Austria, Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation, and University College London.
