Gerard Lopez, a board member of Societe Generale and chairman of the Formula E racing series, said that Crosstower's institutional-ready approach was one of the things that attracted him to the company.
"While Crosstower aims at a wide market, the institutional-ready approach is one of the founders' most appealing and distinguishing strengths," Lopez said.
Crosstower co-founder and CEO Kapil Rathi said that what distinguishes the firm's trading platform from all others on the market is its "get paid to trade" pricing model.
"This fee structure is designed to draw traders to the system as we will pay for takers of liquidity 1 bpps of the value of each trade," Rathi said. "In our view, the model can also provide substantial liquidity to market makers."
