**Cryptocurrency trading platform Crossover and institutional brokerage Hidden Road have partnered to offer a new service that allows institutions to trade cryptocurrencies without having to deal with centralized exchanges.**
The partnership aims to avoid conflicts of interest by decoupling trade execution and brokerage, allowing institutions the ability to freely choose their own credit counterparties.
“Institutions want to trade crypto the way they would with any other traditional asset class,” said Brandon Mulvihill, co-founder and CEO of Crossover.
Hidden Road customers will have access to Crossx, Crossover’s execution-only communication network (ECN), to execute cryptocurrency spot transactions. Hidden Road is the first firm to onboard with Crossx, which Crossover launched in March.
“We believe this significant removal of operational friction from the ecosystem will materially increase trading volumes and decrease the costs of trading,” Mulvihill said.
Crossover’s seed investment round was funded by Flow Traders, Nomura’s Laser Digital and Wintermute Ventures, among others.
