**Coinbase launches cash-out service for Mexican users at 7-Eleven stores**
**Starting Tuesday, Coinbase users in Mexico will be able to cash out their crypto balances at 7-Eleven stores across the country.**
The cash-out service will be free of charge until March 31, after which an undisclosed nominal fee will be applied. Coinbase says the fee will be between 25% and 50% cheaper than traditional cross-border payment solutions.
**“We recognize this is a global issue,” Coinbase’s vice president of Product, Shilpa Dhar, said in a blog post. “And while we’re starting in Mexico, over time we’ll consider other regions where customers face similar challenges.”**
According to the World Bank, immigrants and expatriates based in the U.S. sent approximately $700 billion to their home countries in 2020. Fees for remittance payments can reach up to 7%.
