IES4linux is a simple way to run Microsoft Internet Explorer on Linux (or any operating system using Wine).

**Install IES4LINUX on Ubuntu**

1. **Add universe repository**

Open the file `/etc/apt/sources.list` or run `sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list`.

Add the following lines to the file (you may need to change the country code if you are outside the UK):

deb Index of /ubuntu dapper universe
deb-src Index of /ubuntu Dapper Universe
```

2. **Add WineHQ APT repository**

deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/APT Dapper Main

3. **Install Wine and Cabextract**

sudo apt-get update

```

4. **Download IES4LINUX script**

tar xvzf ies4linux-2.0.5.tar.gz
cd ies4linux-2.0.5
```

5. **Install Internet Explorer**

Run the following command to install Internet Explorer:

./ies4linux
```

To run Internet Explorer, run the following command:

/root/bin/IE6
```

**Troubleshooting**

If you get the following error message when running `/root/bin/IE6` as a root user (similar to the administrator):
