**Bitcoin Price Drops 10% in 1.5 Hours, Hits Month Low**
The price of Bitcoin dropped by more than 10% in the early hours of today, falling from $13,210 to $11,850 in just 1.5 hours.
The sudden sell-off saw the price of Bitcoin fall to its lowest level since December 5th, when the cryptocurrency was trading at a similar level before it began its climb to a new all-time high of $20,000.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $12,195, down 10% on the day.
The sell-off in Bitcoin comes as the wider cryptocurrency market is seeing losses. All of the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization are in the red today, with Ethereum down 14%, Ripple down 21% and Bitcoin Cash down 19% over the last 24 hours.
The overall market cap for all tokens is at $584.9 billion at press time, down from a high of $832 billion on January 7th.
