Balancer, a leading DeFi protocol, was exploited on August 27, resulting in a loss of nearly $900,000.
The exploit was discovered by security expert Meier Dolev, who tracked down the hacker's wallet and found that they had made two transactions worth $636,812 and $257,527, respectively.
Balancer has since issued a warning that the platform is unsafe and that users should withdraw their funds from affected pools.
This is the second time in a week that Balancer has been hacked. Just last week, the protocol discovered a critical vulnerability that could have affected several pools on the platform.
Despite confirming that only 1.4% of funds were at risk, Balancer still urged users to withdraw their money.
The total amount of assets that could be unsafe on Balancer is estimated to be $5 million. As of August 25, 99.7% of the assets on Balancer have been preserved, but there is still a 0.08% (565.199 USD) chance of theft.
Balancer has not yet disclosed details of the exploit.
The price of BAL, the native token of Balancer, has fallen since the exploit was announced. The token is currently trading at around $3.50, down from a high of $4.50 on August 18.
