**DEFI tokens fall sharply while Bitcoin price increases sharply**
The price of many decentralized finance (DEFI) tokens has fallen sharply in recent weeks, even as the price of Bitcoin (BTC) has risen sharply.
A study by Bitdealer shows that the correlation between the price of DEFI tokens and BTC has been negative for more than a month.
The correlation coefficient between the price of DEFI tokens and BTC is -0.58, indicating that when the price of BTC increases, the price of DEFI tokens tends to decrease.
This is in contrast to the previous period when the price of DEFI tokens and BTC were positively correlated.
The decline in the price of DEFI tokens is likely due to the fact that investors are withdrawing their funds from the DEFI market and investing in Bitcoin.
This is supported by the fact that the monthly trading volume of decentralized exchanges (DEX) has decreased from nearly $26.3 billion in September to about $19.4 billion in October.
Only a few DEXs have a significant market share, with Uniswap and Curve accounting for 75% of decentralized trading volume in September.
The volume on Uniswap over the past three months is equal to 45% of the total DEX volume since November/2019.
