Winifred Lamb (1904-1996) was a British archaeologist who made significant contributions to the study of the Aegean Bronze Age. She was born in London and studied at the University of London, where she earned a degree in archaeology. In 1927, she began working as a research assistant at the British School at Athens. During her time at the BSA, she excavated at several sites in Greece, including Mycenae, Tiryns, and Knossos.
In 1936, Lamb became the curator of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. She held this position for over 30 years, during which time she oversaw the acquisition of a number of important artefacts from the Aegean Bronze Age. She also published several books and articles on Aegean archaeology.
