**Vechain and Shanghai Renji Hospital launch blockchain-based IVF app MyBaby**
Vechain, a blockchain-based supply chain management platform, has announced a partnership with Shanghai Renji Hospital to launch a new blockchain-based IVF app called MyBaby.
The app, which is said to be the first of its kind, will allow patients to track the development of their eggs into embryos on the blockchain. Vechain believes that this will help to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress associated with the IVF process.
As part of the MyBaby service, all information and tracking data from the IVF process, including “images created by medical tools for the distribution of zygotes,” will be uploaded to the VechainThor blockchain. This information will only be accessible to authorized users of the MyBaby app.
The project claims to provide additional security for sensitive and private health data by reducing the number of “intermediaries between the production and distribution of data.”
This is not the first time Renji Hospital has used blockchain technology. In 2019, the hospital launched the “Smart Tumor Treatment Center,” which was said to be the “first of its kind in the world.”
