The bill, known as the CHIPS and Science Act, was sponsored by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). It passed the Senate by a vote of 68-32.
The bill includes provisions to:

* Promote research on the development of digital assets.
