**UK Government Launches £10 Million Blockchain Funding Competition**
The UK government has launched a £10 million funding competition to support blockchain projects that have the potential to make a significant impact on the economy.
The competition is being run by Innovate UK, the government’s innovation agency, and is open to businesses and research and technology organisations.
Projects must cost at least £35,000 and last for at least three months, but can go on for up to three years and cost up to £2 million.
Businesses must be able to raise up to 70% of the cost of their project themselves.
The deadline for applications is March 28, 2018.
