The now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange BTC-e has resurfaced online, claiming that it will return funds to users.
In a message posted to the Bitcoin Talk forum, the exchange said that it is "able to access our databases and wallets," and is currently "evaluating data and balances on [coins]."
The exchange also denied that Alexander Vinnik, who was arrested in Greece on charges of operating BTC-e, was the mastermind behind the exchange or even an "employee of our service."
BTC-e's return comes just days after U.S. prosecutors unveiled a 21-count indictment against the exchange, alleging that it laundered billions of dollars in Bitcoin.
It remains unclear who from the exchange is posting through the account.
