**Bitcoin ATMs in the US increased by 177% in a year**
The number of Bitcoin ATMs in the United States has increased by 177% since March 1, 2020, from 4,945 to 13,699 on March 10, 2021.
Canada, the country with the second-highest number of Bitcoin ATMs, has 1,268 devices, accounting for about 7.5% of the global total.
Two of the countries tracked by Coin ATM Radar, Austria and the UK, have seen a decline in the number of Bitcoin ATMs in recent years. In Austria, the number of machines peaked in May 2019 at 266, and has since fallen to 153 as of the first week of March - a decrease of 42.5%.
In the UK, the decline in Bitcoin ATMs has been more gradual, with the highest level of 283 machines in February 2020 compared to 199 of the latest data: only less than 30%.
The data for the whole of Europe shows that the increase is more or less stable, but quite modest, from a total of 1,233 machines in March 2020 to 1,273 machines at the present time.
The Coin ATM Radar marker code tracks the speed of electronic ATM installation shows that up to 34.6 new ATMs are being installed every day. Most of these machines are still in the purchase mode, at 77.6%, and only 22.4% of devices support both buying and selling activities.
While the US, Canada and Europe occupy the largest market share of all cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide, Hong Kong (85 machines), Russian Federation (53) and Colombia (46) are the countries with the highest number of ATMs outside the territory.
