**Singapore launches blockchain-based health certificates**
Singapore has launched blockchain-based health certificates to issue COVID-19 test results, the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG) said in a statement.
The certificates are issued on an open-source framework and can be verified independently, according to the news network CNA.
The test results will be available on the government's digital identity mobile app Singpass.
Only the individuals' hash - or digital fingerprint - will be published to the blockchain upon issuance to keep data private, the SNDGG said.
The Singaporean government will also look into using HealthCerts for vaccine certificates.
