**SEC to rule on VanEck Bitcoin ETF application on Nov. 14**
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will rule on VanEck's Bitcoin ETF application on Nov. 14, the agency said in a filing on Friday.
The SEC has been considering VanEck's application for more than a year. The agency has previously extended its review period for the proposal three times.
If the SEC approves VanEck's ETF, it would be the first Bitcoin ETF to trade in the U.S.
Asset managers have rushed to modify their offerings in recent weeks, filing ETFs based on the Bitcoin futures market instead of the Bitcoin spot market. The strategy change followed remarks by SEC Chair Gary Gensler that futures may be preferred.
