**TD Ameritrade to Offer Bitcoin Futures on ErisX Exchange**
TD Ameritrade, a leading U.S. brokerage firm, has announced that it will offer Bitcoin futures on the ErisX exchange. The exchange, which is backed by derivatives market provider Eris Exchange, Drw Holdings, and Virtu Financial, is currently in the process of self-certifying its futures contracts with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
ErisX will offer physically delivered Bitcoin futures contracts, which means that buyers and sellers will be required to settle their trades with actual Bitcoin. This is in contrast to cash-settled Bitcoin futures contracts, which are settled in cash rather than Bitcoin.
TD Ameritrade customers will be able to trade Bitcoin futures on ErisX beginning in the second half of 2019.
