**Two More Cryptocurrency Exchanges to Close in Japan**
Two more cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan are set to close, following the recent suspension of two other exchanges by Japanese regulators.
Eternal Exchange and Tokyo Gateway have withdrawn their applications with the Financial Services Agency (FSA) to launch services to domestic customers, according to a report by Nikkei.
No official statements have been published by either exchange as of press time.
The closures come after the FSA suspended two other cryptocurrency exchanges, Fsho and Bit Station, earlier this month due to security concerns.
Bit Station has also withdrawn its application with the FSA, according to Nikkei. Two other exchanges, Raimu and Bitexpress, have also withdrawn their applications.
“More are expected to follow, as the FSA has given a given success a chance to voluntarily close before ordering them to close,” the news service added.
Exchanges in Japan are required to register with the FSA, as mandated by a law that went into effect last March. While a number of exchanges have applied for licenses to date, the agency has nonetheless stepped up its oversight of the industry in the wake of the Coincheck hack.
