Grin, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that went live in mid-January, has elected two new full-time core developers to its team.
The new developers, who go by the pseudonyms “Ignotus Peverell” and “Antioch Peverell,” were both voted in by the Grin community in February.
“There’s no [official] roles,” Ignotus Peverell told CoinDesk. “We just continue to work on what we see fit, which so far seems to be working okay.”
In a public Discord channel, Ignotus Peverell emphasized that being funded for Grin development work is “not a requirement” for community members.
“Anyone is welcome to contribute to Grin, regardless of whether they are funded or not,” Ignotus Peverell said.
In addition to electing new core developers, Tuesday’s governance meeting also confirmed the “contract and payment” of security auditing firm Coinspect.
The Grin community voted unanimously to hire Coinspect over other auditors such as Quarkslab and NCC last month.
“We’ve already paid them a fee of roughly $17,000 and expect a draft report by April 20,” Ignotus Peverell said. “They’ve also already produced one excellent vulnerability report.”
The estimated cost of the audit is roughly $80,000, according to a GitHub.
