**Bitt Hires Rawdon Adams as CEO to Grow Caribbean Expansion**
Blockchain startup Bitt has appointed Rawdon Adams as its new CEO, the company announced Wednesday.
Adams, who has more than 15 years of experience in financial services, previously served as Bitt's chief operating officer. He will now be responsible for leading the company's expansion in the Caribbean region.
“Rawdon is the perfect leader to grow and scale Bitt to the next level and bring to fruition Bitt’s initial vision in the Caribbean,” said Jonathan Johnson, president of Medici Ventures, Overstock’s blockchain subsidiary that invested $4 million in Bitt last year.
Bitt has been working with the Central Bank of Barbados on pilot blockchain initiatives, and the company recently launched a mobile app that allows users to buy and sell bitcoin.
Adams is the son of Tom Adams, who served as Barbados’ prime minister from 1976 to 1985. He is also the grandson of Sir Grantley Herbert Adams, the first and only prime minister of the West Indies Federation.
Prior to joining Bitt, Adams worked as an analyst for GE Medical Systems and founded market arbitrage software startup Arbakaker in 2008.
