On February 21, Polygon Labs, the blockchain development unit of Polygon, announced that it had laid off 100 employees, equivalent to 20% of the company's workforce.
The decision to cut personnel was the result of the company's restructuring from the beginning of this year, which consolidated all parts into a unit, Polygon Labs, abandoning the previous "Polygon Studios" brand.
In a statement, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said:
"Our departing teammates have played a historic part in building the Polygon ecosystem to be the globally recognized platform that it is today. These individuals will always be a part of the 0xpolygon community and we sincerely thank each and every one of them."
