**Overstock and Tzero Unveil Prototype for Security Token Trading Platform**
Overstock and its blockchain subsidiary tZERO have unveiled a prototype for their security token trading platform.
The prototype will allow users to “get an idea of the breadth of what we intend,” Overstock and tZERO CEO Patrick Byrne said in a statement. The move follows the launch of Overstock’s tOSTK security blockchain, which is also based on tZERO’s platform.
tZERO President Joe Cammarata said the subsidiary is still waiting for federal regulators to weigh in on security tokens before launching the full platform.
“We anticipate the security token trading software will be ready to trade security tokens in May, subject to further regulatory clarity,” he said. “We have been working on getting this prototype right and looking forward to user feedback.”
Overstock has been raising funds through its $250 million offering of “simple agreements for equity” (SAFEs), as previously reported. The sale of SAFEs will continue until May 14, tZERO said on Monday.
