**OneOf Sports NFT Marketplace to Launch on Polygon, Partner with Duke University**
Non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OneOf announced today that it will launch its sports NFT platform on the Polygon blockchain. The company has also partnered with Duke University's men's basketball program to create a series of NFTs that will celebrate the team's history.
OneOf previously launched a music NFT platform on the Tezos blockchain, but the company decided to move to Polygon for its sports NFT platform in order to reach a wider audience. Polygon is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum that is known for its low fees and fast transactions.
"We love tezos, but there is a desire to diversify a bit and bring in a different buyer pool," said Joshua James, co-founder of OneOf. "We think it makes the tent bigger, and we like that as an idea. We think about going to be a multi-chain world."
OneOf's sports NFT platform will feature NFTs from a variety of sports, including basketball, baseball, football, and more. The company has already signed partnerships with famous athletes such as Wayne Gretzky, Mia Hamm, and the estate of Muhammad Ali.
Collectibles on OneOf's marketplace are purchasable with credit cards, in addition to crypto.
