The Nigeria Securities Commission (SEC) has warned investors in the country about the risks of investing in cryptocurrencies through the Binance platform.
In a statement, the SEC said that Binance is not licensed and regulated by the Commission, and therefore all of its operations in Nigeria are illegal.
The SEC also said that it had directed all crypto service providers in the country to stop operating.
Binance has not yet responded to the SEC's statement.
