“The crypto ecosystem is still in its infancy, but it is growing fast and becoming increasingly interconnected with the traditional financial system,” he said. “This growth raises important risks, which need to be addressed.”
Villeroy said that a licensing requirement for DASPs would help to ensure that these companies are subject to the same level of regulation as traditional financial institutions.
