Cơ quan tiền tệ của Singapore (MAS) và JPMorgan Chase & Co. đã tuyên bố hợp tác để phát triển một nguyên mẫu cho một hệ thống thanh toán dựa trên blockchain.
Nguyên mẫu là một phần của giai đoạn thứ năm của dự án Ubin, được ra mắt vào tháng 11 năm 2016 như là một nỗ lực chung giữa MAS và ngành dịch vụ tài chính để khám phá việc sử dụng công nghệ blockchain để thanh toán và giải quyết chứng khoán.
Có bằng chứng từ khắp nơi trên thế giới rằng công nghệ blockchain có thể giúp giảm chi phí và tạo ra các cơ hội mới cho các doanh nghiệp.

**JPMorgan and MAS to develop blockchain-based payment system prototype**
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. have announced a collaboration to develop a prototype for a blockchain-based payment system.
The prototype is part of the fifth phase of the Ubin project, which was launched in November 2016 as a joint effort between MAS and the financial services industry to explore the use of blockchain technology for payments and securities settlement.
“There is evidence from around the world that blockchain technology can help reduce costs and create new opportunities for businesses,” said Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer at MAS.
“This prototype is an important milestone in the Ubin project, and we are pleased to partner with JPMorgan Chase on this project. JPMorgan Chase has deep expertise in blockchain technology, and we believe that this collaboration will help us to further explore the potential of blockchain for payments and securities settlement.”
“We are excited to partner with MAS and Temasek on the fifth phase of the Ubin project,” said Umar Farooq, Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets at JPMorgan Chase.
“Building on our experience in building the Interbank Information Network (IIN) and JPM Coin, we believe that we are well-positioned to help develop blockchain-based payment systems that can operate at scale.
“We hope that this prototype will encourage other central banks and financial institutions to participate in the development of blockchain-based payment systems. This will be a major step towards making cross-border payments faster, cheaper, and more efficient.”
The prototype is expected to be completed in early 2020.
