Proof of Capital, a new blockchain-focused venture capital fund, has launched with $100 million in funding. The fund will invest in early-stage startups that are building products and services for the decentralized web, also known as Web 3.0.
The fund is led by HTC's decentralized chief officer, Phil Chen, and former Ripple executive Greg Kidd. Other investors include YouTube co-founder Steve Chen and Taiwanese chemical firm Formosa Plastics.
Proof of Capital has already made its first investment in Argentina-based blockchain startup Ubanx. The fund is also partnering with HTC on its Exodus blockchain phone.
