**Neon Labs to build Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) on Solana**
Neon Labs, a blockchain startup, announced on December 12, 2022 that it will build the Ethereum virtual machine system (EVM) right on Solana's platform.
EVM is a standardized virtual system to help DEFI applications operate on the Ethereum ecosystem. However, with a different infrastructure mechanism such as Solana, this solution is not supported, thereby making projects "compatible" with Ethereum cannot easily be implemented on Solana.
