**South Korean DeFi startup Sooho.io raises $4 million in funding round led by WeMade Tree**
Sooho.io, a South Korean decentralized finance (DeFi) startup, has raised $4 million in a funding round led by WeMade Tree, a subsidiary of South Korean video game developer WeMade Entertainment.
The funding will be used to develop Sooho.io's protocol for aggregating leveraged yield farming products, which aims to centralize the "fragmented landscape" of South Korean protocols, according to a press release. The protocol, dubbed Kleva, currently counts $500 million in total value locked.
In addition to the funding, Sooho.io also announced a partnership with Lambda256, a subsidiary of South Korea's top cryptocurrency exchange by volume, Upbit. Lambda256 – which offers blockchain-as-a-service products – will use Sooho.io's Kleva and smart contract expertise to launch a DeFi ecosystem, according to the press release.
