Near Protocol, a layer-1 blockchain platform, has appointed former HSBC banker Marieke Flament as its new CEO. Flament, who previously served as HSBC's head of global markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will be responsible for overseeing Near's growth and expansion.
"When I joined two years ago, Near had around 50,000 users, and now we have over 2.5 million daily active users," Flament said in an interview with CoinDesk. "We are not the only ecosystem making a move like that."
