“My hope is that by the fourth quarter, the economy will be slowing enough that the Fed says we are going to pause, and then you will see the next crypto cycle start,” Novogratz said in an interview with CNBC on Monday. “Then bitcoin will break from equities and lead markets.”
Bitcoin has fallen more than 50% from its peak of nearly $69,000 in November, as the Fed has raised interest rates in an effort to combat inflation. Novogratz said he believes the Fed will eventually pause its rate hikes, which will create a more favorable environment for cryptocurrencies.
