**Wemade admits to issuing more WEMIX tokens than it reported, Upbit may delist**
Upbit, a major cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea, has announced that it is investigating Wemade, the developer of the WEMIX blockchain platform, over allegations that the company issued more WEMIX tokens than it had reported.
In a notice posted on its website, Upbit said that it had found a discrepancy between the distribution volume plan information that Wemade had submitted to Upbit and the actual distribution volume.
Wemade has since acknowledged the discrepancy, saying in a statement that it had accidentally omitted additional tokens that had been issued to partners and funds in order to increase participation in the Wemade ecosystem.
“As more and more partners believe and participate in the future of WEMIX and the development of the ecosystem, a certain amount of WEMIX was inevitably supplied at each partnership/contract signing depending on the nature or form of the cooperative model,” Wemade said.
Upbit said that it would continue to review the tokens and could delist WEMIX if any untoward activity regarding the issuance was found.
