Ủy ban Chứng khoán Malaysia (SC) đang làm việc với Ngân hàng Trung ương của đất nước, Ngân hàng Negara Malaysia (BNM), để phát triển một khuôn khổ cho tiền điện tử.SC dự kiến sẽ hoàn thiện khuôn khổ trong những tháng tới.
Giám đốc điều hành SC Datuk Seri Ranjit Ajit Singh nói rằng cơ quan quản lý sẽ hợp tác chặt chẽ với BNM để đảm bảo rằng khuôn khổ được áp dụng để bảo vệ các nhà đầu tư.
"Cùng với BNM, chúng tôi sẽ xem xét khu vực một cách cẩn thận và vì SC chịu trách nhiệm về thị trường thứ cấp, chúng tôi sẽ xây dựng các quy định để đảm bảo rằng các giá trị giao dịch có quyền ngưng tụ cho mục đích toàn vẹn của thị trường và các dự án của nhà đầu tư", Ranjit nói.
Ranjit cũng nói rằng một số trao đổi tiền điện tử đã tiếp cận bộ điều chỉnh và rằng, một khi khung được đặt ra, SC sẽ xem xét đăng ký các trao đổi.
SC cũng đang làm việc trong một dự án thí điểm để khám phá công nghệ sổ cái phân tán (DLT) cho thị trường chưa niêm yết và OTC.Dự án thí điểm nhằm mục đích thúc đẩy đổi mới kỹ thuật số trong thị trường vốn của Malaysia.
Tin tức về khung tiền điện tử của SC được đưa ra chỉ một tháng sau khi BNM nói rằng họ sẽ đưa ra quyết định về việc có nên cấm giao dịch tiền điện tử "trước cuối năm nay."

**Malaysia's Securities Commission to Finalize Cryptocurrency Framework in Coming Months**
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is working with the country's central bank, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), to develop a framework for cryptocurrencies. The SC expects to finalize the framework in the coming months.
SC chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ranjit Ajit Singh said that the regulator will work closely with BNM to ensure that the framework is in place to protect investors.
"Together with BNM, we will look at the area carefully and as SC is in charge of the secondary market, we would craft regulations to ensure that the trading values have the right condensed in place for market Integrity and investor projects purposes," Ranjit said.
Ranjit also said that several cryptocurrency exchanges have approached the regulator and that, once the framework is in place, the SC will consider registering the exchanges.
The SC is also working on a pilot project to explore distributed ledger technology (DLT) for unlisted and OTC markets. The pilot project is aimed at boosting digital innovation in Malaysia's capital markets.
The news of the SC's cryptocurrency framework comes just a month after BNM said that it would make a decision on whether to ban the trading of cryptocurrencies "before the end of the year."
