Kraken is restricting accounts associated with Russia in order to comply with EU sanctions, according to emails sent to Russian customers.
It is unclear what the extent of the restrictions are, but one source said that some users have not encountered any barriers to their accounts. Another user said that while their account was frozen, they were still able to withdraw money from the platform.

A representative of Kraken confirmed that the exchange is complying with the latest sanctions against Russia.
“Kraken complies with legal requirements and regulations in all legal areas we operate. Since the EU’s announcement, we have made the necessary changes to comply with the latest sanctions for Russia,” the representative said.
