**South Korean Blockchain Startup Coinplug to Launch Digital ID Solution with KB Kookmin Card**
South Korean blockchain startup Coinplug is set to launch a digital ID solution with KB Kookmin Card, the country's largest credit card issuer.
The solution, which is based on Coinplug's Fidoledger blockchain, will allow KB Kookmin Card customers to add, verify, or revoke identities tied to their credit card products.
Coinplug CEO Richard Yun said that the startup wanted to potentially resolve security and user experience problems associated with existing identity solutions in South Korea.
"We thought it is very very important to Provide Secure and Easy to use Identification and Authentication Service to banking Service Users, and We Believed that Private Blockchain Technology Can Be Very Effective to Impliety Secure and Scalable Identification/Authentication Service."
KB Kookmin Card is said to be considering applying the technology to both services it offers now as well as new ones in the future.
