The Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan is reportedly considering denying a license to cryptocurrency exchange Fisco after the company failed to implement strict know-your-customer (KYC) procedures and subsequently failed to report suspicious transactions.
The FSA has previously issued two separate orders to Fisco, one in March and one in April. The reasons for the actions, as explained by the FSA at the time, were that the platform had not implemented strict KYC procedures and subsequently failed to report suspicious transactions.
The Nikkei reported that the FSA may deny Fisco a license as early as June 7. The FSA has not yet commented on the Nikkei report.
