**Council of Europe to explore use of blockchain, AI and IoT in fight against climate change**
The Council of Europe is to explore the use of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in its fight against climate change, the council announced in a joint statement on Monday.
One of the aims of the working group is to improve the methodology and process of tracking carbon emissions. The working group will examine the potential of several “emerging technologies,” including blockchain technology, to track emissions more reliably.
