**Grayscale launches Ethereum Trust, allowing accredited investors to sell shares**
Grayscale Investments, the world's largest digital asset manager, has launched its Ethereum Trust, which will allow accredited investors to buy and sell shares of the trust.
The trust is the second crypto vehicle from Grayscale to be registered under the Exchange Act of 1934, after its GBTC Bitcoin Trust became effective as a reporting company in January.
"We're seeing interest from investors who have become more comfortable with digital currencies through bitcoin exposure, and are now looking at how else they can diversify within the asset class," said Michael Sonnenshein, Grayscale's managing director.
The Ethereum Trust will invest in Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The trust will hold Ethereum in a custody account and will issue shares to investors in exchange for their Ethereum.
Accredited investors can buy and sell shares of the trust through Grayscale's website or through a broker-dealer. The trust's shares are currently trading at a premium to the underlying value of Ethereum.
