Crypto lender Genesis Global Trading has denied reports that it is on the verge of bankruptcy, saying that it is “in a strong financial position” and has “ample liquidity.”
The denial comes after Bloomberg reported that Genesis was facing a liquidity crisis and had been forced to sell off assets at fire-sale prices. The report sent bitcoin (BTC) to a fresh two-year low of $15,480.
However, a Genesis representative told Bloomberg that the company “has no plans to file bankruptcy imminently” and that it is “in the process of resolving its margin calls in an orderly manner.”
Genesis and CoinDesk share the same parent company, Digital Currency Group.
