FTX US Derivatives, a subsidiary of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has withdrawn its application to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to clear crypto derivatives directly for customers.
The move comes after the CFTC raised concerns about the proposal, saying that it could lead to increased risk for market participants.
In a statement, FTX US Derivatives said that it had decided to withdraw its application in order to focus on other priorities.
“We believe that our current approach of clearing through regulated intermediaries is the most prudent and safest way to provide our customers with access to crypto derivatives,” the company said.
