**FTX.US Derivatives Request for Daily Margining Acknowledged by CFTC**
FTX.US, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, has requested that the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) require daily margining for all futures contracts. In a letter to the CFTC, FTX.US CEO Sam Bankman-Fried argued that daily margining would reduce systemic risk and improve market transparency.
“As market-moving news over the last two weeks has demonstrated, large amounts of time between margining periods causes risk to build up in the system, resulting in market swings at the next open and lack of clarity over participants,” Bankman-Fried wrote.
The CFTC has acknowledged FTX.US’s request and has asked for public comments to be submitted on or before April 11.
