**Former Fidelity Exec Hadley Stern Joins Bloq to Drive Enterprise Blockchain Adoption**
Hadley Stern, who helped Fidelity launch its digital asset custody and trading platform last week, is leaving the financial services giant to join blockchain company Bloq.
In her new role as vice president of enterprise blockchain, Stern will focus on helping Bloq's enterprise customers adopt blockchain technology, the company said in a press release.
“I’m excited to dive deep into blockchain technology beyond just financial services use cases — healthcare, identity, Internet of Things, cross-border transactions,” Stern said in a statement. “It really gets to this notion of tokenization of things, that anything that can be tokenized will be, and potentially what can be decentralized will be.”
At Bloq, which provides blockchain solutions to enterprises, Stern will work with clients to develop and implement blockchain applications, she told CoinDesk.
“My main task is to help teams operationalize their technology and to really ensure consistent and quality delivery, providing guidance from a strategic standpoint,” she said. “Helping drive innovation into product development [is something] I have a lot of experience with as well.”
Stern has been involved in the blockchain space for several years. Prior to joining Fidelity, she worked at ConsenSys, where she helped launch the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance.
“I’ve watched Bloq over the years from the outside — even worked together on a Fidelity project — and the vision of co-founders Jeff Garzik and Matthew Roszak resonated strongly, as did what they were building,” Stern wrote in a Medium post announcing her new role.
Roszak, who is also chairman of Bloq, said in the press release that Stern will help the company take advantage of the growing convergence between the enterprise and crypto sides of the industry.
“As the shared surface area between conventional enterprise and the world of cryptocurrency expands, there is absolutely no better partner than Hadley for this role as we pursue continued, rapid growth in our business,” Roszak said.
During her time at Fidelity, Stern helped the company secure new academic and business partnerships in the blockchain space, and Fidelity Charitable, the company’s philanthropic arm, began accepting Bitcoin and Ether donations.
