Enjin, a blockchain company specializing in NFT, has announced the launch of a $100 million fund to support Metaverse projects on Efinity, the company's cross-chain blockchain platform built in partnership with Polkadot.
The fund will focus on supporting projects that are building NFT assets, digital collections, games with virtual world elements, and inter-chain infrastructure.
“Today, the metaverse is everywhere. It’s time for us to make it an official, public, and focused part of our development strategy, supporting an open and decentralized metaverse so that anyone can participate,” said Maxim Blagov, CEO of Enjin.
Efinity was originally developed on Ethereum, but Enjin decided to transfer the project to Polkadot to avoid the high fees of the world’s second-largest blockchain, as well as ensure the ability to scale easily.
Enjin’s token price has surged in the wake of the news, reaching a 24-hour high of $3.44 and approaching its all-time high of $3.50.
